Review

The Audi A1 is a fine car – it's great to drive, comfortable to sit in and available with lots of big car options. However, if you can live without a posh badge, the Peugeot 208 and VW Polo offer slightly more for less money. Our recommend version of the A1 is the 30 TFSI with entry-level Sport trim.

S line versions are all about sportiness, with bigger wheels, more aggressive looks and stiffer suspension.

The 30 TFSI is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol with 114bhp and performance is more than adequate. It pulls well from around 2000rpm and, if you let the revs build to 6000rpm before changing gear, 0-60mph takes 9.1sec.
